Crossing the border
Montenegro and Kosovo share a land border you can cross by car. Keep your passport, national driving licence and International Driving Permit together, and check opening hours and any toll or vignette requirements before you travel.

Driving on a foreign licence
Foreign visitors may drive on a valid foreign licence or an International Driving Permit for up to 90 days; carry both parts of the licence plus insurance and vehicle registration documents.
Tolls & road charges
Most roads are free, but the R7 motorway linking Kosovo to Albania is tolled; pay in cash or card at toll plazas. Note Kosovo is outside the Green Card system, so border third-party insurance must be bought on entry.
Parking in the cities
Paid parking is normal in central Pristina via kerbside attendants and machines; vehicles parked illegally or causing obstruction can be towed.
Fines & camera enforcement
There are generally no cash on-the-spot fines; police issue a ticket stating the offence and where to pay, and camera/ticketed fines on a rental are billed to the hirer.
If you have an accident
Stop at the scene and call the police for any property damage or injury (even single-vehicle); a police report is required and you must not leave before it is taken, then notify the border-insurance provider.
Driving in the capital
Pristina's centre has congested, narrow one-way streets and heavy informal parking, so it is easiest to park on the outskirts and walk into the core.
